Pakistan News: Pakistan's Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi has categorically rejected speculations about President Asif Ali Zardari's removal from office. On Thursday, Naqvi termed the rumours as a "malicious campaign" and said they were baseless. Reports spreading rapidly on social media, especially on forum 'X', claimed that Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir could replace President Zardari.What did Mohsin Naqvi say?Mohsin Naqvi clarified in a post on 'X', "We have full information about who is behind the malicious campaign targeting President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Army Chief." However, he refrained from naming any individual or group. Naqvi stressed, "There has been neither any discussion nor any such idea of the President resigning or the Army Chief wishing to become President."'Information about those who spread lies'Naqvi also underlined that President Zardari has a "strong and respectful relationship with the leadership of the armed forces." Quoting President Zardari, he said, "I know who is spreading these lies, why they are doing so and who is benefiting from this propaganda." This statement of the Home Minister is being seen as an attempt to calm the speculations which were pointing towards political instability in the country.What is the reason for the speculations?Recently, such reports had appeared in the Pakistani media, which spoke of tension between the government and the military leadership.
