Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, cylinders and gas stoves were found, but the increased prices of LPG are not allowing it to be used. Inflation has extinguished the stoves under the Ujjwala scheme. The beneficiary women of Agra say that the price of cooking gas is out of the budget. It is a compulsion to light the stove and to bear the smoke of the fireplace because cooking on them is cheaper than LPG.

In Dauratha, Naubasta, Panchkuian, Nagla Padi, Soron Katra, where families used to fill eight to nine cylinders a year earlier, now they do not even fill five. Kamlesh and Premvati, residents of Dauratha, said that filling gas in the cylinders available under the scheme is now out of position. The cylinder is available for 962.50 paise. There are six to seven members in the family. One cylinder can hardly last even a month. In such a situation, cooking is done by burning wood in the stove. Use less gas.

Roti Wali Amma is blowing the stove

83-year-old Bhagwan Devi, resident of Bagh Muzaffar Khan, runs her own small dhaba on the roadside near St. John's. Gives full meals to people for 20 and 30 rupees. During the Corona period, when the video of Amma with roti went viral on social media, people and the administration came forward to help.

They were given cylinders and stoves under the Ujjwala scheme. For a few days, he cooked food on the gas stove. Due to the rising prices of LPG, now cylinders and gas stoves are kept in the corner. Amma with roti is blowing the stove again. Said that gas is so expensive that even the cost cannot be covered.

Now it's not just a matter of burning the gas stove

Manju, a resident of Naubasta, has been cooking on the stove since last month. They have got gas cylinder under Ujjwala scheme. He told that earlier he used to cook food on the gas stove. Now due to the cost of gas, it is getting cheaper to cook on the fireplace, stove. Cylinders fill very little. Now cooking on gas stove is not a matter of common man. You have to go according to the budget of the house.

The gas stove was lit till it was in the budget

Guddi, a resident of Panchkuian, says that what will happen if the government gives cylinders if the common man is not able to use it due to inflation. Cylinder and hearth were found under the scheme. As long as it was in the budget, they were also using it, but now the gas stove is out of the budget. Back on the earthen stove again.

This is the plan

Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the government provides gas cylinders and stoves free of cost to the families living below the poverty line. Only women can take advantage of this scheme. Applicant woman must be at least 18 years of age.
