UP News: UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced that beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme will be given a free LPG cylinder as a Diwali gift. Adityanath addressed the inauguration/foundation stone laying ceremony of 256 development projects worth Rs 632 crore and distribution of aid funds in Transport Nagar on Tuesday.

104 projects worth Rs 208 crore inaugurated

Among these projects, 104 projects worth Rs 208 crore have been inaugurated and the foundation stone of 152 projects worth Rs 424 crore has been laid. Adityanath said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a gift to every family through the Ujjwala scheme and reduced the cylinder prices by Rs 300." Now we have also decided that every Ujjwala Yojana connection beneficiary will be given a free LPG cylinder as a Diwali gift."

About 1.75 crore families benefited from Ujjwala scheme in Uttar Pradesh

Adityanath said that before the present BJP government came to power in 2014, getting an LPG gas connection was a difficult task. He said that in Uttar Pradesh alone, about 1.75 crore families have benefited from the Ujjwala scheme. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a Central Government initiative that provides financial assistance to BPL (Below Poverty Line) families for LPG connections. Highlighting other schemes of the BJP, the Chief Minister said that 55 lakh women have become home owners under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Uttar Pradesh, while 2.75 lakh toilets have been built in the state under the 'Swachh Bharat' initiative.

Chief Minister Adityanath said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we all have seen a new India. An India that is capable, powerful and self-reliant.” He said that the new India after 2014 has benefited all sections of people including the youth and women of the country. Adityanath said, “Our daughters Parul Chaudhary and Anu Rani from Western Uttar Pradesh have brought pride to the country as well as mother power by winning gold medals in the Asian Games. Our government will directly appoint both their daughters as Deputy Superintendents of Police.”

He said, “Also, by organizing a function in Lucknow, an amount of Rs 3 crore will be given to the players who won the gold medal in the Asian Games, Rs 1.5 crore to the players who won the silver medal and Rs 75 lakh to the players who won the bronze medal.” Adityanath praised the Prime Minister for launching campaigns like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao', 'Khelo India' and 'Fit India' and said that as a result of these, women are making the country proud in international events. Bulandshahr district in-charge minister Arun Saxena, Bharatiya Janata Party state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Bulandshahr MP Dr. Bhola Singh, Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Rajya Sabha member Surendra Singh Nagar and others participated in the program.
