India / 1000 Delhi Police Personnel tests for Covid-19 Positive including Additional Commissioner

New Delhi : Corona virus infection has once again started showing its fury in Delhi. From Parliament to Supreme Court and from doctors to policemen, the virus has started coming in the grip of this virus.

According to the information given by the Delhi Police, around 1000 personnel including Delhi Police Public Relations Officer and Additional Commissioner Chinmay Biswal have been infected with Kovid-19. All the positive police personnel are currently in isolation. Delhi Police has more than 80,000 personnel.

Recently, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana issued the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to prevent the spread of corona virus among police personnel. As per the SOP, all police personnel should wear face masks while on duty, follow social distancing and wash/sanitize hands properly. It said, “Workers who have not received the dose of anti-Covid-19 vaccine due to medical reasons can again seek the advice of doctors for vaccination.

17 patients died of Kovid in Delhi, 22,751 new cases of infection were reported

Significantly, according to the Health Bulletin issued by the Health Department in Delhi on Sunday, 17 more people died due to Kovid-19, while 22,751 new cases of infection were reported and the infection rate was 23.53 percent.

Since May 1 last year, the highest number of cases of infection have been reported in a single day. On May 1, 25,219 cases of infection were reported and the infection rate was 31.61 percent. According to government data, 1,618 Kovid patients are hospitalized. 44 of them are on ventilator. The number of patients under treatment in Delhi is 60,733, out of which 35,714 are in home isolation. A total of 96,678 tests were done including 79,954 RT-PCR on the last day.
