On the 385th birth anniversary of Veer Durgadas in Salwa Kala village of Jodhpur district, the Defense Minister unveiled his statue at around 2.30 pm on Saturday. This statue of Veer Durgadas riding on a horse is 12 feet high. This statue made of Ashtadhatu weighs 1400 kg. The responsibility of the construction of the statue was taken up by the NRI social worker of Jodhpur, Dr. Dilip Karan Mudi. He did this work by collecting donations from the society. The Defense Minister praised him for this work.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had landed at Jodhpur airbase at 10.37 am, where state BJP President Satish Poonia and Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat were welcomed by some leaders. After this, the Defense Minister discussed the situation in the border area with the Air Force officers in the conference hall at the airbase. After this, left for Salwa Kala village from Jodhpur airbase at 11.28 am. Salwa Kala village, the birthplace of Veer Durgadas, is about 45 km north-east of Jodhpur city. On the way, Rajnath Singh stopped for a while at Pilar Balaji Temple. Defense Minister reached Salwa Kalan village at 12.21 pm. He addressed the gathering after unveiling the statue here. After this they left for Jodhpur at 3 pm.
