Uttar Pradesh / 2 Interstate vehicle thieves arrested in UP, used to steal 20-25 cars every month

Noida: Noida Sector-24 police have arrested two thieves near Sector-53 CNG pump on Thursday morning while exposing a vehicle thief gang. One of the accused is the husband of Agouta block chief of Bulandshahr. Police have recovered stolen goods and other items including stolen cars at the behest of the accused.

Noida Zone DCP Rajesh S told that the police was patrolling the area at around five in the morning. Meanwhile, it was reported that two miscreants in the car are roaming in the direction of committing an incident. Police rushed to the spot and arrested the two accused after a siege. In the police interrogation, the accused have been identified as Mustakim, a resident of Bhaisrauli in Bulandshahar and Iqbal, a resident of Mabimira village in Daurala, Meerut.

Police have recovered five stolen cars, three engines, 20 keys of various cars, plas and sandbar from the accused. During the police investigation, it was revealed that the gang leader Mustakim is the husband of the Agouta block chief of Bulandshahr.

More than one and a half thousand vehicles stolen in 25 years

The DCP said that gang leader Mustakim has been carrying out a vehicle theft incident for the last 25 years. He has stolen more than one and a half thousand vehicles so far. Two of the gang accused are still absconding. They have been identified as Afzal resident village Mabimira Daurala Meerut and Khalil resident Moradabad. Police are raiding in search of both.
