Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the 'Statue of Equality' in Hyderabad. This 216 feet tall Statue of Equality has been built in the memory of the 11th century Bhakti saint Sri Ramanujacharya, who promoted the idea of ​​equality in all aspects of life including faith, caste and creed.

It is established on a 54-feet high base building, whose name is 'Bhadra Vedi'. This statue was conceived by Sri Chinna Jeyar Swami of Sri Ramanujacharya Ashram. The Prime Minister also visited the 108 Divya Desams (ornamentally carved temples) that surround the 'Statue of Equality'.

The 'Statue of Equality' has been built to commemorate the 1,000 years of the birth of Saint Ramanujacharya. The height of the statue is 216 feet. Let us tell you that this statue has a deep connection with the number 9. If you add the digits of 216 then 2+1+6 will be equal to 9. 9 is called the full number and is also considered an auspicious number in the Sanatan tradition.

1000 crore cost

1000 crores has been spent on the 'Statue of Equality' mega project. More than 1800 tonnes of punch iron has been used in making the statue. 108 Divyadesam or temples have been built around the park. The stone pillars have been specially carved in Rajasthan.
