Breaking the rule of giving details of assets, 44 MLAs including Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami have not given details of their assets. This has been disclosed after taking information from RTI activist Advocate Nadeem Uddin under the Right to Information Act.

According to the information, out of 71 MLAs of Uttarakhand, 44 MLAs, including the Chief Minister, have not given their property details to the Assembly. This information has been provided by the Public Information Officer of the Vidhan Sabha. According to the rules, it is necessary for the honorable to give the details of their assets in the Vidhan Sabha every year.

Hem Chandra Pant, Public Information Officer/Deputy Secretary (Accounts) of the Vidhan Sabha has provided the information. According to this, the names of 44 MLAs are included in the list of MLAs who have not given property details after becoming MLA this time. It also includes the names of seven ministers and the Leader of the Opposition.

The names of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Ministers Subodh Uniyal, Arvind Pandey, Rekha Arya, Banshidhar Bhagat, Yatiswaranand and Bishan Singh Chufal are included in the list. Apart from this, the name of Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh is also included in this list.

These MLAs did not give property details throughout their tenure

Advocate Nadeem Uddin said that according to Section-3 of the Uttar Pradesh Minister and MLA (Publication of Assets and Liabilities) Act 1975, ministers and MLAs are required to give details of their property liabilities to the Secretary of the Legislative Assembly within three months of being appointed or elected. duty. After this, according to Section-4, by 30 June every year, the details of property receipts, expenses and liabilities of the previous year have to be given, which is required to be published in the Gazette for the information of the general public. Since the formation of Uttarakhand, a large number of MLAs and ministers are not following this law, while it is necessary in public interest to do so for transparency and control of corruption.
