All festivals will be celebrated in homes

After the riots on Ramnavami, the district administration has not allowed any festival of Eid, Akshaya Tritiya and Parashuram Jayanti to be celebrated in public places in view of security. Eid prayers will be offered in homes instead of mosques. On the day of Akshaya Tritiya and Parashuram Jayanti, all the events will have to be done at home. This decision has been taken after a meeting between the district administration and the society.


Giving information, Additional Collector SS Mujalda said that in view of Akshaya Tritiya, Parashuram Jayanti and Eid, curfew will remain in force in the entire city on May 2 and 3. There will be relaxation in curfew from 8 am to 5 pm on Sunday, May 1. During this, orders have been issued to open all the shops. But there will be a ban on petrol pump and kerosene distribution. At the same time, useful goods cannot be sold as a lethal weapon.


The Additional Collector said that if Eid falls on May 3 instead of May 2, then the curfew can be relaxed according to the situation. At the same time, those who get married or go to the wedding on Akshaya Tritiya will be allowed to go out only till May 1. The district administration has made a special appeal to the common people if they make arrangements to reach their whereabouts by May 2 and 3. Passes will be issued to the students who take the exam.


Let us tell you that curfew was imposed in Khargone on the day of Ram Navami on April 10 after stone pelting and arson incident between two communities. The district administration is relaxing the curfew from time to time so that people can buy essential items. After 22 days of violence, the situation in the riot-affected areas is gradually improving. In view of the security, the administration had not given permission to open temples, churches on Mahavir Jayanti, Good Friday, Hanuman Jayanti in the past.
