AFG vs NZ: In the ODI World Cup 2023, the match is being played between New Zealand and Afghanistan today i.e. on Tuesday, 18 October. Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. The match will take place at 2 pm at MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk), Chennai.

New Zealand: Tom Latham (captain and wicketkeeper), Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Mitchell Santner, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Trent Boult.

Afghanistan: Hashmatullah Shahidi (captain), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wicketkeeper), Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Ikram Alikhil, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Naveen-ul-Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqui.

Kane Williamson will not play due to injury

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has fractured his thumb. New Zealand Cricket confirmed this on its official account (Twitter) on Saturday (October 14). Williamson was injured in the match against Bangladesh on Friday (13 October). Due to which he retired hurt at the score of 78 runs and returned to the pavilion.

Tom Blundell has been called in as their cover. However, Williamson will remain with the team and may return by next month. Tom Latham will captain in his absence.
