Outer Space Treaty is a list of some such works and rules, which have been signed by a total of 109 countries by the year 2019. 23 other countries have also signed it, but they are yet to be recognized. It is written in this treaty that on the moon, any country can do its research work related to science and can use it for the development of human beings, but cannot capture it. The question is that when no country has any ownership rights on the moon, then how are companies selling land on the moon?

Is the land registry also being done on the moon?

Yes, the registry of the land bought on the moon is being done on the earth itself. A website named Lunarregistry.com claims to have rights to its registry, but the website clearly writes in its FAQs section that it is not the owner of the land on the moon. Their job is only to get the registry done, not to sell the land. Means it happened just like that, you get the registry of any land on earth done, but now when the question arises in the court on the ownership rights, then the registry office avoids saying that our job is only to do the registry, not Selling the land and checking who is the real owner of the land.

Is selling land on the moon a scam?
