Xi Jinping News: The speculations about iPhone manufacturing in India now seem to be coming to an end. Foxconn, one of the world's largest electronics manufacturing companies, has made a new investment of $1.5 billion to boost iPhone production in India. This was revealed recently through an exchange filing, which makes it clear that the speculations about stopping iPhone manufacturing in India are currently baseless.Trump's warning, but investment in India continuesThe importance of this investment increases further because recently former US President Donald Trump openly said in a speech in Qatar that he does not want iPhones sold in America to be manufactured in India. He even said that he has spoken directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook about this. Trump believes that production for the American market should be in America or its close countries, not in Asian countries like India. But the figures tell a different story—every fourth iPhone sold in America is being made in India, and this number is constantly increasing. Despite Trump's stance, Apple and Foxconn continue to invest in India and South Asia. The new production center being built by Foxconn in India will have a capacity of 30,000 employees—which in itself can become the largest electronic factory in India's recent industrial history. Apart from this, Tata Electronics is also playing an important role in iPhone assembly in India.India becomes a big hub of iPhone exportAccording to the Economic Times report, the export of iPhones made in India has reached record levels in the last few years. Currently, iPhones worth about 22 billion dollars are being produced in India, out of which phones worth 17 billion dollars are being exported. These figures are establishing India as a strong player in the global electronics supply chain. The special thing is that India's electronics export through iPhone has reached 38 billion dollars, which is more than pharmaceutical exports.China's concerns and obstaclesWhile India is strengthening its foothold in iPhone production, China's restlessness is increasing. For years, China has been a major manufacturing base for Apple, but the ongoing tariff war between the US and China has led Apple to diversify its supply chain. This is why China has banned engineers from Beijing from coming to India to disrupt Apple production in India.China fears that if iPhone manufacturing gets a further boost in India, many other electronic component manufacturing units established here may also migrate to India, which may affect its economic and technological position.
