Jayakumar made it clear that it has no alliance with the BJP and will not fight for the elections. Any decision on the agreement will be taken only during the elections. Jayakumar slammed BJP's Tamil Nadu unit president K for criticizing Dravidian leader CN Annadurai. Targeted Annamalai (K. Annamalai). Jayakumar said, 'We can no longer tolerate criticism of ourselves (leaders). As far as alliance is concerned, it is not so. BJP is not with AIADMK. A decision in this regard can be taken only during elections. This is our stand.' Asked if this was his personal opinion, Jayakumar said, 'Have I ever spoken to you in that capacity? I only talk about what the party decides.

There is no impact of this decision, we are fully confident of our victory

He said that he is criticizing Anna, Periyar and the General Secretary. No cadre will accept this. Tomorrow we have to work in the field. Therefore, without any option we have announced this. This decision will not affect us in any way. He said, “We are confident of our victory.” Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu BJP vice president Narayanan Tirupati said that D Jayakumar is right and there is no alliance between the two parties at present. He said, “Alliances are always two-way…” In 2019, the BJP was defeated in Tamil Nadu and its ally AIADMK was reduced to only one seat. On the other hand, the DMK-Congress alliance won 30 of the 39 seats in the state (Congress 8 and DMK 24).
