Chandigarh: As fast as the corona virus (Covid-19) infection is spreading, different prevention tips are becoming viral. One such remedy on social media is becoming increasingly viral that alcohol can prevent infection. Regarding this, the head of the expert committee of Punjab, Dr. K. K. Talwar has clarified the situation.

Expert Warning

The head of the expert committee of Punjab, Dr. KK Talwar asked people to ignore the rumors going on social media according to which alcohol can provide protection against corona virus. About four lakh people have been infected with Covid-19 in the state.

Immunity has the wrong effect

Dr. KK Talwar said that drinking too much alcohol can reduce immunity and increase the risk of getting infected. Talwar said that he read on social media that the consumption of alcohol can provide protection against the virus. He said, "Such a misconception can cause serious problems."

The more alcohol, the higher the risk of infection

Dr. Talwar said, "If people consume a lot of alcohol, then there is a higher risk of getting infected." Talwar said that the suggestion that alcohol consumption could lead to corona virus death. He, however, said that there is no harm due to the consumption of alcohol in very small quantities. Talwar said that on the basis of scientific research, it can be said that people should avoid the consumption of alcohol for two days before and two days after getting Corona Vaccine.
