India Covid Update: These days the pace of corona virus in the country is not taking its name to stop. In the last 24 hours, a total of 18,840 new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported across the country. During this 43 people died due to this dangerous virus. At the same time, the active cases of corona in India have crossed 1.25 lakh. At present, the total active cases have increased to 1,25,028 across the country.

Slight decline in corona case compared to yesterday

According to the data of the Health Department, there has been a slight decline in Kovid cases in the country as compared to yesterday. Yesterday i.e. on Friday, 18,930 new cases were registered in the country. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that a new sub-variant BA.2.75 of the Omicron variant of the corona virus has been detected in India. This changing form of corona has increased the concern of scientists all over the world.

2,994 new cases came in a day in Maharashtra

On Friday, 2,994 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Maharashtra and seven patients died due to the epidemic. During this, 191 new cases were reported in Himachal Pradesh and 101 new infected were found in Jammu and Kashmir. An official of the Maharashtra Health Department said that after the arrival of new cases, the total number of infected people has increased to 79,98,673 and the death toll has reached 1,47,971. Two patients each died in Mumbai and Vasai-Virar and one each in Thane, Raigad and Aurangabad in the last one day due to the pandemic.

Significantly, on 7 August 2020, the number of infected people in the country had exceeded 20 lakh, on 23 August 2020, 30 lakh and on 5 September 2020, more than 40 lakh. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November. On 19 December 2020, these cases had exceeded one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, it crossed 30 million. On January 25 this year, the cases had crossed four crores.
