Amit Shah Slams AAP Government in Punjab, Says State Pushed into Darkness and Drug Trade is Out of Control

Union Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the AAP government during his Punjab visit, slamming them over the unchecked drug trade and the deaths of anti-drug activists across the state.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched one of his most aggressive political attacks against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on the very first day of his two-day visit to Punjab. Making serious allegations, he stated that the AAP government has completely pushed Punjab into utter darkness, and the business of narcotics and drug trafficking has become entirely uncontrolled in the state. Amit Shah explicitly remarked that the ground realities in Punjab are far worse and more alarming than the reports reaching Delhi, and this stark on-ground truth has shaken him to his core.

During his visit, Union Minister Amit Shah specifically highlighted the tragic incidents that have shaken the entire state of Punjab. Mentioning courageous individuals such as Bikramjit Singh in Gurdaspur, Gulzar Singh in Sangrur, and Parvinder Singh Jhota in Mansa, he pointed out that these individuals were either brutally murdered simply because they raised their voices against the menace of drugs and its illegal trade, or they were harassed to such an extent that they were driven to suicide. Shah directly and sharply questioned the Aam Aadmi Party government on how they can possibly justify these deaths to the families and women who have lost their brothers or husbands forever. He expressed deep regret that apart from making lame excuses, the government has failed to provide any concrete, satisfactory, or accountable answers to these grave matters.

Sharing his past recollections, Union Minister Amit Shah recalled that his previous visit to Punjab was to address a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally, where the singular core issue was achieving a 'Drug-Free Punjab', while he had gone there merely to appeal for the complete eradication of the dark trade of narcotics from the state, but surprisingly, instead of taking action, he was targeted with political allegations by opposition leaders. Shah emphasized that his objective in visiting Punjab today wasn't to pursue any political agenda, but rather to personally offer condolences and share the pain of the victims who have fought against drugs and lost their loved ones. Despite this, he had to face verbal abuse and humiliation.

Amit Shah stated in the harshest possible terms that hurling abuses at him and his party will benefit no one. Using a tone of sarcasm and caution, he said that if this brings mental satisfaction to the opposition leaders, they're certainly free to continue doing so, but before that, they must please put an end to the narcotics trade and shut down the illegal drug business in the state, while reminding the current AAP government and its top leadership of their past promises, Shah said that they came to power making the solemn promise that within just three months of forming the government, they would completely wipe out the drug trade from the soil of Punjab.

However, the reality is that five years have passed since they came to power, yet the drug trade continues to thrive unabated, while the situation has become so pathetic that drugs are now being openly sold in every single village across Punjab. The extent of corruption and administrative failure is such that police personnel themselves are found to be involved in this illegal trade and are being caught red-handed, with authorities recovering anywhere from 10 to 12 kilograms of heroin from their possession. Anyone from the public or civil society who openly opposes this drug network is either forced to commit suicide or ruthlessly murdered, while considering all these circumstances, Shah bluntly stated that the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party government should be thoroughly ashamed of their failure.

During this fiery address, Union Minister Amit Shah also took a sharp dig at Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He noted that earlier this morning, right after celebrating his birthday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann abruptly handed over a case for investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Responding to this, Shah gave a firm assurance and promise to the great people of Punjab that in this specific case handed over to the CBI, regardless of who the accused might be and no matter how influential or powerful they're, they will be tracked down even from the netherworld and brought squarely within the strict bounds of the country's law. Following Shah's statement, political temperatures in Punjab have risen dramatically, bringing the ruling party and the central government face-to-face over the issue of drug eradication.
