Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing them of the murder of democracy. He alleged that these individuals have hijacked the country under a criminal conspiracy. Gandhi emphasized that it's his guarantee to bring these people to justice, asserting that the democracy and Constitution of India have been systematically destroyed over the last 10 to 15 years.
Allegations of a Criminal Conspiracy
Rahul Gandhi stated that PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Gyanesh Kumar, and their chosen associates have effectively killed democracy in the country. He claimed that the opposition has presented evidence of this across various states, including Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Haryana, and that the public is gradually beginning to accept these facts. He further revealed that a few days ago, two Election Commissioners wrote a letter to Gyanesh Kumar stating that India's electoral system has collapsed.
The Process of Justice
Regarding the ongoing protests, Rahul Gandhi described them as a process to ensure justice for the people of India. He claimed that government officials and high-ranking officers are calling them, requesting that this process be stopped. However, he asserted that the process has now begun and can't be halted. He predicted that this would be the first political action that will lead to a change in government.
Investigation and Punishment After Government Change
Rahul Gandhi vowed that once the government changes, a thorough investigation will be conducted to identify those responsible for destroying India's democracy. He specifically named Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Gyanesh Kumar, and Mohan Bhagwat, stating that they and their associates would face the strictest possible punishment. He remarked that usually, what he says comes true, and this process will ensure that these 4 to 5 individuals are punished. He reiterated that bringing these people to justice is a guarantee of the INDIA bloc.
Obstruction of Opposition March
Before the opposition leaders' march towards Rajghat, Rahul Gandhi mentioned that approximately 300 MPs wanted to hold a peaceful sit-in protest but were being prevented from moving forward. He alleged that on the first day of the protest, they were stopped near the Election Commission office, and on the second day, they were barred from going to Jantar Mantar, where their supporters were reportedly beaten, while he maintained that the truth is that Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Mohan Bhagwat, and Gyanesh Kumar have hijacked the country through a criminal conspiracy, destroyed the Constitution, and stolen votes.
Kharge Slams BJP Over Voting Rights
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also spoke out, stating that all MPs of the INDIA bloc were heading to the Gandhi Memorial to hold a protest and pray peacefully for Modi and Shah to be granted wisdom. Kharge accused the BJP government of snatching away the people's right to vote. He further alleged that Modi and Shah are taking away the freedom that was earned for the country by great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
