Congress leader Jignesh Mevani arrested / Assam Police arrested from Palanpur in Gujarat, MLA from Vadgam

Congress's Vadgam MLA and Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani was arrested by Assam Police from Palanpur Circuit House at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday. This information has been given by a worker associated with Mevani's team. "The police have not yet shared the copy of the FIR with us. Prima facie we have been informed about some cases registered against them in Assam," he said. According to the information, Mevani was taken by road to Ahmedabad, from where he would be taken to Guwahati in Assam by train.

Jignesh Mevani told some more reasons

Mevani said that I may have been arrested in connection with one of my tweets. However, I have not yet been informed by the police about the exact reason for this arrest. On the other hand, Congress leader Jagdish Thakor said about Mevani's arrest that a complaint was lodged against Jignesh for tweeting on the RSS. This is an attempt to intimidate an MLA.
