Deoband Madrasa / Bangladeshi student living for seven years detained by ATS, Pak connection is also suspected

Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) while taking action in Deoband late on Thursday night, arrested a Bangladeshi youth. It has been told that the youth was taking Islamic education in Darul Uloom, a well-known educational institution in Deoband, on the basis of a fake ID. Another youth was also arrested with him, who was released after interrogation.


Apart from Bangladeshi currency, many books and other documents have been recovered from the arrested youth. Sources reveal that in the initial investigation, the ATS has found the activities of the Bangladeshi national suspicious. It is also feared to have links with the neighboring country of Pakistan.


At around 1:30 on Thursday night, ATS reached Darul Uloom, a well-known educational institution, where the ATS officers took the management into confidence and took two students into custody from the hostel room number 61 in the institution premises.

Assam student left

After questioning and going through all the documents, the ATS released one student for being from the state of Assam, while the other student could not give any satisfactory answer. Due to this his suspicion deepened. Sources say that when a cupboard of the student kept outside the room was opened and searched, Bangladeshi currency, while some IDs, books and other documents were recovered from inside.

Bangladeshi student living in Deoband since 2015

ATS sources reveal that this student is a Bangladeshi national who was residing in Deoband since 2015 on the basis of fake documents by hiding his identity. At the same time, information has also been received that in the mobile that the ATS got from him, a lot has been found which is exposing his suspicious activities in the neighboring country of the said student, Pakistan.


However, no official information has been given by the ATS about the action yet. On the other hand, it is also being told that the ATS had detained both the youths from Muzaffarnagar during the day. The Bangladeshi national had gone to a doctor's place to take medicine along with his companion. In the night, the ATS had come to search his room, from where some incriminating items were recovered. Due to this the team took a student with them.
