Amarnath cave cloud burst: A major accident has happened due to cloudburst near the cave of Baba Amarnath in Jammu and Kashmir. 5 devotees have died in the accident, including 3 women and 2 men. The incident is being told at 5.30 pm and after this accident there is an atmosphere of chaos all around. Now relief-rescue work is going on on the spot and rescue operation is being conducted with the help of many agencies.

Tents covered in water and debris

According to the information, after the cloudburst incident, the journey has been stopped for the time being and a large number of tents have been damaged due to this accident. However, according to preliminary information, the ITBP team has also reached the spot and heavy damage is being feared in the accident. After the cloudburst, the entire surrounding area was submerged in water and the injured people were airlifted to the hospital for treatment. The DIG of NDRF told Zee News that 10 people are feared dead in the accident and he said that the rescue operation will continue in the night as well.

The weather pattern has changed in the mountains for the past few days, after which there have been incidents of cloudburst in many areas of Himachal, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. Also, due to heavy rains in some areas, normal life is affected. After a cloudburst in the upper part of the cave, water and debris from the mountains had flowed down, in the grip of which the tents there had come. Along with this, some passengers have also been destroyed in the flow of water.

Large number of devotees leave for Darshan

On the previous day, a group of more than 5000 pilgrims had left for the darshan of the holy Amarnath cave built at an altitude of 3,880 meters in South Kashmir amidst tight security. A total of 5,726 pilgrims in 242 vehicles, Bhagwati Nagar Yatri here, amidst tight security of CRPF. These include 4,384 men, 1,117 women, 57 children, 143 sadhus, 24 sadhvis and one transgender.

The 43-day annual pilgrimage to see Baba Barfani began on June 30 via the traditional 48-km Nunwan route at Pahalgam in south Kashmir and the 14-km Baltal route in central Kashmir's Ganderbal. Officials said that so far more than 89,000 pilgrims have visited the Shivalinga made of ice in the holy cave. The Amarnath Yatra will end on August 11, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
