BJP News: After the big defeat in the recently held assembly elections in Karnataka, a relief news has come for the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the municipal elections held in Hubli in the state, the BJP registered a big victory and got its mayor and deputy mayor. According to reports, the BJP had 39 seats in the 82-member municipal corporation, and has managed to get its own mayor and deputy mayor. BJP's Veena Bhardwaj has been elected mayor and Satish Hangal as deputy mayor after Tuesday's polling.

What are the equations in Municipal Corporation

In the 82-member Hubli Municipal Corporation, the BJP has 39, the Congress 33, the AIMIM 3 and three Independents. With the Congress currently in power in Karnataka and prominent BJP leader from Hubli-Dharwad and former CM Jagadish Shettar leaving the party to join the Congress before the elections, the BJP feared horse-trading with its councillors. Can To avoid this, BJP had kept all its 39 councilors in a private resort.

BJP councilor directly reached Municipal Corporation

BJP councilors had reached the Municipal Corporation directly from the resort and participated in the voting. After losing the assembly elections, the Congress party has decided to make Jagadish Shettar MLC, but the defeat in the Hubli Municipal Corporation elections must have shocked him. Congress had high hopes from Shettar in Hubli Municipal Corporation elections but the results could not come in favor of Congress. The defeat in these elections is a major setback for the party which had put up a tremendous performance in the recently held assembly elections.
