Hyderabad. Top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, will address a public meeting here on Saturday to mark the conclusion of the second phase of the 'Praja Sangram Yatra' started by the party's state unit. It is worth mentioning that the party under the leadership of Telangana Pradesh BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar had started the first phase of Praja Sangram Yatra in September last year. The second phase started from the Jogulamba temple at Alampur, Gadwal on April 14 on Ambedkar Jayanti.

According to information received from BJP sources, Shah will also visit the Forensic Science Laboratory at Ramnathpur in the city before attending the public meeting on Saturday. The public meeting has been organized at Tukkuguda on the outskirts of the city. Union Minister Mr. Kishan Reddy, who visited the venue of the rally on Friday, expressed confidence that change will happen in the state and the BJP will form the next government here.

BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda had attended a public meeting in Mahbubnagar on May 5 as part of this 'padayatra', while Union minister Bhupendra Yadav and other senior leaders also participated in the padyatra.

Shah's public meeting assumes political significance as the BJP wants to emerge as an alternative to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the state assembly elections due next year. The BJP's success in the by-elections to Dubbak and Huzurabad assembly seats in 2020 and 2021 and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections is encouraging.
