Spikewax was already approved in the UK for people over the age of 12. After this, approval was given to give this vaccine to young children. A few hours before this, the French firm Wallneva's vaccine for adults was approved. Valneva's vaccine is an easy-to-store anti-coronavirus vaccine.

MHRA chief June Raine said in a Moderna statement that it would be up to Britain's Joint Committee on Immunization whether to allow Moderna's vaccine to be administered to children as part of the country's immunization programme. If approved, it can be included in Britain's vaccination campaign and rapidly applied to children, so that they can be protected from the epidemic.
