Uttarakhand News: Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand has started from today. After many years, the doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedarnath temples opened simultaneously at 6:55 in the morning. Whereas darshan in Badrinath temple will start from May 12. After the opening of the doors of Kedarnath, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived with his wife for darshan. The day temperature is being recorded at 0 to 3 degrees at these places. At the same time, the mercury is reaching minus at night. Despite this, about 10 thousand devotees have reached Gaurikund, 16 km before Kedarnath Dham. At the same time, Gaurikund is housefull for two days.

Last year this figure was between 7 to 8 thousand. There are about 1500 rooms here, which are full. Registered 5,545 mules have been booked. Sonpur, three km away, is also house full. More than 15 thousand passengers have reached Haridwar and Rishikesh.

According to Kedarnath-Badrinath Temple Committee Chairman Ajayendra Ajay, when Baba's Panchmukhi Doli reached Kedardham at 4 pm on May 9, 5 thousand people were present. So far, more than 22.15 lakh devotees have registered for Char Dham Yatra. Last year a record 55 lakh people had visited.


For the first time, the number of devotees is limited, only 15 thousand will be able to visit Kedarnath daily.

Last year, arrangements were disrupted due to the arrival of a record 55 lakh people. Taking a lesson from this, Uttarakhand Police and Tourism Department have for the first time limited the daily number of devotees in Char Dham Yatra. Last year, more than 60 thousand pilgrims were coming to the four Dhams every day for darshan.

According to Tourism Secretary Sachin Kurve, in a day, 15 thousand devotees will be able to visit Kedarnath Dham, 16 thousand people will be able to visit Badrinath Dham, 9 thousand devotees will be able to visit Yamunotri and 11 thousand people will be able to visit Gangotri. That means 51 thousand people will visit Char Dham every day.

Most special- Chief priest goes to the sanctum sanctorum 6 hours before the general darshan.

Saint Aviram Das Maharaj of Kedarnath Dham told that every year before opening the doors, at 12 o'clock in the night, Chief Rawal enters the temple along with 5-6 Vedapathi Brahmins. The temple is closed from outside. Then life is restored in the Jyotirlinga through mantras from the Panchmukhi Vigriha in the sanctum sanctorum. The sanctum sanctorum is cleaned. After the Shodashopachar puja of the Lord, the doors are opened for public darshan.

400 Doctors deployed, including 256 experts

For the first time, deployment of more than 400 doctors on the Char Dham Yatra route. These include 256 emergency medical officers and specialist doctors. Still, devotees should plan for at least 7 days during the journey, so that the body remains acclimatised to the increasing and decreasing temperatures.

The Health Department of Uttarakhand has said in the advisory that all the four Dhams are above 3 thousand meters and there is intermittent snowfall on the mountains. Therefore, devotees should make a plan for 7 days.

Superfast network till Kedarnath

4G and 5G network will be available on the entire track of Kedarnath. For this, 4 towers have been installed. Last year, network was available only at a few places on this track. If you wanted to use Wi-Fi at the temple, you had to get a government slip, but now there will be a superfast network there too.

Online puja booking in two Dhams till June 30

According to Yogendra Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, online puja this time will be held only till June 30. In this, 51 thousand rupees are given for reading Shrimad Bhagwat. So Rs 12 thousand for Mahabhishek. Have been decided.

The doors of these temples will also open

  • The doors of Badrinath Dham will open on May 12 at 6 am.
  • The doors of Hemkund Sahib, the holy place of Sikhs, will open on 25th.
  • The doors of Second Kedar Shri Madmaheshwarji will open on 20th May.
  • The doors of the third Kedar Tunganath Ji will open on 10th May.
  • The doors of the famous Bhavishya Badri in Panch Badri are opening on 12th May.
