Bihar Vidhan Sabha: The monsoon session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly witnessed uproar for the third consecutive day. Opposition parties, especially the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), are attacking the government over issues such as Voter List Revision (SIR) and law and order in the state. On the third day of the session, opposition MLAs protested wearing black clothes, after which there was a heated exchange and uproar in the House. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav were both present in the House, and a heated debate took place between the two. Nitish Kumar targeted Tejashwi and reminded him of the shortcomings of his father Lalu Prasad Yadav's reign.Speaker's comment: Protest is the soul of democracy, but violence is unacceptableAs soon as the proceedings of the House began, the Speaker took a tough stand on the attitude of the opposition. He said,"Opposition's protest is the soul of democracy, but the language of protest and violence is not right. In yesterday's incident, the employees of the Sabha Secretariat, who serve faithfully, were also injured."The Speaker appealed to the opposition MLAs to exercise restraint and behave with dignity.Tejashwi Yadav's allegation: Lack of transparency in voter list revisionLeader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav raised questions on the voter list revision process and said,"Lalu ji says that the rule of votes means the rule of the Chota. In the Constitution, everyone has the right to vote at the age of 18. We do not oppose SIR, but there should be transparency in the process. The Election Commission should have worked impartially."Tejashwi raised questions on four main points:Time: The process should have started immediately after the Lok Sabha elections.Documents: 11 documents were sought, which the poor do not have. Why was the Aadhar card not included?Supreme Court's advice: There was no improvement despite the court's reprimand.Migration: People of Bihar migrate, and the job of the Election Commission is to conduct fair elections, not to decide citizenship. On this, Deputy CM Vijay Sinha retorted, "The Leader of Opposition is working to confuse the public."Nitish Kumar's taunt: "How bad was the situation before"Responding to Tejashwi Yadav, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reminded him of the RJD rule. He said,"Your father and mother were together. What was it before and what is it now after 20 years? Today is the third day of the session, and elections will be held soon. The people of the country will decide what to do. How much work have we done from the beginning. Was anything done for women before? You were a child, did anyone go out in Patna in the evening then? The situation was bad before."Referring to the development work done during his rule, Nitish accused RJD of failing to maintain law and order.Speaker's displeasure: Proceedings adjournedAmid the uproar in the House, the Speaker got angry with the comment of RJD MLA Bhai Virendra. He told Tejashwi,"The words used by Leader of Opposition, Bhai Virendra, are not befitting at all. I humbly request you to ask him to apologize."Tejashwi replied, "If you are hurt by the words of any member of our side, then do not feel bad. There is no such thing." Meanwhile, on the intervention of Deputy CM Vijay Sinha, the Speaker said, "Will we take the decision or you?" After this, due to the increasing uproar, the proceedings of the House were adjourned till 2 pm.
