Uttarakhand Election 2022 / CM Dhami's statement regarding Hijab, will prepare 'Uniform Civil Code' as soon as he takes oath

After the Hijab controversy in Karnataka, now Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has given a statement. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that as soon as our government is sworn in, we will prepare a draft of 'Uniform Civil Code'.

Uniform civil code

The Chief Minister said that in order to protect the cultural-spiritual heritage of Uttarakhand, the BJP government will prepare a draft of 'Uniform Civil Code' by constituting a committee immediately after its swearing-in. By which there will be equal law for all citizens, irrespective of religion they believe in.

Emphasizing on increasing social harmony through Uniform Civil Code, CM Dhami said that it will also promote gender justice. He said that the laws of marriage and divorce are different for all religions in the country. The laws of property and paternity are also different. He said that there will be equal rights for all citizens on matters like marriage, divorce, succession, property and property. Be it of any religion or caste.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Dhami said that a committee consisting of retired judges, intellectuals and various sections of the society will be formed, which will prepare the draft for the 'Uniform Civil Code'. On the other hand, BJP MP Anil Baluni has reacted to the statement of CM Dhami. Appreciating the Chief Minister's statement, he said that this would bring uniformity in the society. CM Dhami is taking many decisive decisions for the betterment of Uttarakhand.

The politics of Uttarakhand has heated up. This controversy is increasing after the girls wearing hijab were stopped from coming to the class. Seeing the growing controversy, all colleges, schools in Karnataka will remain closed till February 16.
