New Delhi: In the last few days, there has been a big jump in corona cases inside the country. Till Tuesday, more than 3 thousand new patients were coming out daily for the last 8 days. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also had a meeting with the Chief Ministers of the states and appealed not to lax in the measures to prevent the cases. In the midst of all this, the biggest question in the minds of people is whether the fourth wave will come or not. Now Professor Manindra Agarwal of IIT Kanpur has claimed after a new study that it is very possible that India may not have to see the fourth wave of Corona. He has given reasons behind his opinion like natural immunity built against corona in most of the people of India and no new major changes in the form of virus.

Professor Manindra Agarwal of the Department of Computer Science Engineering at IIT Kanpur has created a mathematical model to measure the speed of the corona. It is named SUTRA. Thanks to its calculations Prof. Aggarwal has predicted Corona many times in the last two years and it has proved to be quite accurate. Now he has put forth his assessment regarding the fourth wave of Corona.

Pro. Aggarwal, quoting his research, has claimed that more than 90 percent of the people of India have developed natural immunity against corona. In other words, due to being infected with corona, the ability of people to fight it has developed inside their body. The level of vaccination in India is also very good. Most people have been vaccinated. He says that ICMR surveys show that many times more people are infected with corona than the number of cases recorded in government records. This number is said to be up to 30 times. A study conducted on Omicron variants in 36 major countries of the world has shown that it is not having a lethal effect on people who have naturally developed immunity against the virus.

Prof. Agarwal also gives one reason that till now no new major changes have taken place in this virus. The variants that are emerging are similar to siblings of the Omicron virus, such as BA.2, BA.2.9, BA.2.10 and BA.2.12. Even in Delhi NCR, no new mutation has been seen, while the maximum number of cases are being found here in the country. Pro. According to Manindra Aggarwal, this means that more than 90 percent of the people in India have already been infected by Omicron and have been cured. They have immunity towards it. In such a situation, the fourth wave of corona is not likely to come due to Omicron. He says that the possibility of a fourth wave will arise only when the corona virus will emerge in a new form.

Explaining the reason for the increase in corona cases recently, Prof. Aggarwal says that all this is happening not because of the new variants but because of the removal of restrictions. With the end of the restrictions, people are coming out of the houses, crowds are increasing, people are mixing with each other. In such a situation, it is natural for the case to increase. But these cases are not increasing so much that they become a cause for concern. Regarding the increased cases in China, Prof. Aggarwal says that countries like China, South Korea, Hong Kong follow the policy of zero tolerance regarding Corona. In such a situation, strict restrictions are imposed even after getting a few cases. Due to this, natural immunity against Omicron could not be formed in the people, which is now coming out in the form of cases.
