Gonda / Dalit girl gang-raped, accused arrested in encounter, report filed under POCSO Act

A case of gang rape of a minor girl residing in a locality of Gonda city has come to light. In this case, a report has been lodged in Kotwali Nagar under rape, POCSO Act and SCST Act.

On February 10, a mentally ill minor girl living in a locality of Kotwali Nagar area was caught by a young man named Raja in an under-construction house with his companions and they all raped her together. She could not tell anyone about the rape as she was mentally ill. On March 29, the minor girl was crying sitting in the women's hospital. When people saw him crying, they asked the reason for crying.

She told that the king and his companions together raped her. The Kotwali police, who reached the spot on the information of the people, brought the girl to the police station. After registering a case under gang rape and POCSO Act, the police sent the victim girl for medical examination.

Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Mishra said that on Thursday morning, the joint team of SOG and Kotwali Nagar police arrested the accused Raja during the encounter on the railway station road from Utraula Road Soni Gumti. A bike, a pistol and live cartridges were recovered from him.

The SP said that during the encounter the accused opened fire on the police team. In retaliatory firing, the accused Raja got injured due to bullet injury in the leg. He is being treated at the district hospital. The SP said that a reward of Rs 25,000 has been given to the police team.
