DK Shivakumar: To Take Oath As Karnataka's 25th Chief Minister Tomorrow

DK Shivakumar is set to be sworn in as the 25th Chief Minister of Karnataka on Wednesday at Lok Bhavan. Along with him, 10 senior leaders are expected to take oath as ministers, while further cabinet expansion will occur after the Rajya Sabha elections on June 18.

In a significant political development in Karnataka, DK Shivakumar is scheduled to take the oath of office as the state's new Chief Minister tomorrow, Wednesday, while this transition comes following the resignation of Siddaramaiah, marking a new chapter in the state's governance. The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be a high-profile event where DK Shivakumar will officially assume his role as the 25th Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Induction of New Ministers

The ceremony won't be limited to the Chief Minister alone. According to the current plans, 10 other senior leaders from the party are also expected to take the oath of office as ministers alongside DK Shivakumar. This initial group of ministers represents a strategic selection of senior leadership to begin the new administration's work.

Cabinet Expansion and Future Plans

While the initial 10 ministers will take their oaths tomorrow, the full expansion of the cabinet isn't happening immediately. The remaining cabinet positions are expected to be filled after the Rajya Sabha elections, which are scheduled to take place on June 18. This phased approach allows the new leadership to stabilize the government before finalizing the complete ministerial team.

Security Arrangements and Venue Details

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday afternoon at 4:05 PM. In anticipation of the event, the Bengaluru city police have made elaborate security arrangements, while a comprehensive security plan, described as a 'Chakravyuh', has been prepared to manage the movement of top political leaders, VVIPs, and the thousands of supporters expected to converge on the venue.

The main entrance of Lok Bhavan has been designated as a high-security point. Access through this gate will be strictly restricted to VVIPs, VIPs, and invited guests, while the main stage will accommodate only the Chief Minister, the newly appointed ministers, the Governor, and a few selected dignitaries. For the general public and supporters, special arrangements have been made in Lawn-B. This area has a seating capacity for approximately 1,000 people, where they can watch the live broadcast of the ceremony on large LED screens.
