A strange case of medical rape has come to light in New York. A woman has made this allegation on her doctor after 40 years. The woman says that she was having trouble getting pregnant, after which she met doctor Martin Greenberg in search of a sperm donor.

This woman named Bianca Voss has filed a complaint against Dr Greenberg in the court. In the document given to the court, Voss has written that he had met Greenberg with the doctor about the 1983 fertility service. According to Voss, the doctor conceived with her own sperm without her consent, which she has now come to know.

The complaint reads, 'Some people call this horrific act 'medical rape'. This heinous and deliberate act of Greenberg is immoral, unacceptable and illegal. Voss has come to know the truth of this thing after 40 years. Voss said he learned of Greenberg's actions after his daughter Roberta found his DNA profile. It contained the name of Doctor Greenberg as the name of Roberta's father.

In the document given to the court, Voss said that he had asked Dr Greenberg to provide an unknown sperm donor. Greenberg charged Voss $100 (Rs 7,325) for this and asked if he had any preferences regarding the race or religion of the sperm donor.

Voss told US-based NBC News, 'I wanted an unknown donor. Greenberg asked me if I would mind if the donor was Jewish. I said that I have no problem with it. I thought that maybe the sperm donor would be a medical student of his hospital whereas the truth was different. After this he also took a check for $100 from me to give to the donor.

According to the document, Greenberg used her own sperm in this process, after which Voss gave birth to a daughter in 1984. Voss said, 'He didn't tell me that he would use his own sperm. He had said that the donor would be an anonymous person. He had also assured that doctors themselves cannot donate sperm. There has been no comment from Greenberg at this time.

Actually, Roberta was trying to learn about her family history. Then he got this information about his biological father. The complaint states that Roberta tried to contact Greenberg several times to inquire about his medical history, but he did not respond.

The petition to the court said that Greenberg has caused Voss to have "grave concern". His life has been disturbed by this incident of emotional pain and his trust shattering. In his complaint, Voss has sought more than $75,000 (Rs 54,97,800) in damages from Dr. Greenberg.

"Whenever I look in the mirror, I see the face of the man who broke my mother's trust and hurt her," Roberta told NBC News. I am feeling an uneasiness inside me that who am I, what is the meaning of all this and what kind of man does such a thing after all? Am I a part of it too? All these things bother me.

There have been many such cases in the past where the doctor has secretly used his own sperm in the treatment of the patient. According to Ancestry.com, in 1980 a DNA test revealed that the doctor had given the patient his own sperm. In 2019, a Canadian doctor gave his sperm to about 50-100 patients. After this, the doctor's license was taken away.
