Asteroid as large as the Giza Pyramid and the Taj Mahal passed near the earth. Earlier it was feared that this giant asteroid could cause major damage to the Earth. However, now after the passing of the asteroid, it is being said that there is no such danger from it.

In fact, the space agency NASA had said that a giant asteroid will pass near the Earth on Sunday at a speed of 18,000 miles per hour. This asteroid was named '2008 GO20'.

The asteroid was between 318 and 720 feet in length, which makes it roughly the size of the Taj Mahal and the Pyramid of Giza. It was an Apollo class asteroid.

According to experts, the '2008 GO20' asteroid was closest to the Earth on July 25 at around 11.30 pm Indian time. There is no chance of an asteroid hitting Earth.

According to Live Science, in 1901 this asteroid passed just 800,000 miles from our planet (Earth). After this in 1935 it was at a distance of 1.15 million miles from Earth. After this in 2034 it will be at a distance of 3.1 million miles from Earth.

At present there is no threat to our earth. But according to experts, over time due to the effect of gravity, the direction of the asteroid can change and when this happens, the possibility of it hitting the Earth increases.

Space affairs expert Dr. Bruce Bates has said about such asteroids that small asteroids are a few meters and they often burn up as soon as they come into the atmosphere. In this case, there is no big loss from it.

In the year 2013, a meteoroid about 20 meters long hit the atmosphere. At the same time, a 40-meter-long meteorite collided in the atmosphere of Siberia in 1908 and burnt.
