UP: The issue of reduction in rates again arose on Wednesday in the ongoing hearing regarding electricity rates before the Electricity Regulatory Commission. Power Corporation attempted to make a presentation on the slab change, which was stopped by the Chairman of the Commission. On showing the rebamp scheme in the ARR, the commission directed to submit its separate DPR.
On behalf of the power companies, the Commission held public hearings of Madhyanchal and Purvanchal on Wednesday on the slab change and true-up for the year 2022-23. Presentation on annual revenue requirement was made by both the companies.
500 crore consultantsCouncil President Awadhesh Kumar Verma said that the ARR of power companies and all the answers sought by the commission have different figures, whereas in different heads, consultants of more than 500 crores have been kept for different works. There should be a high level inquiry into it.
