Jammu Kashmir Encounter: Security forces had an encounter with terrorists in the Munjh Marg area of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir today (December 20) morning. In the encounter, the security forces have killed three terrorists. ADGP Kashmir has informed that three terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organization have been killed. Two of the three terrorists killed have been identified as Latif Lone of Shopian and Umar Nazir of Anantnag.

Latif Lone was involved in the murder of a Kashmiri Pandit Puran Krishna Bhat and Umar Nazir in the murder of Til Bahadur Thapa of Nepal. An AK 47 rifle and 2 pistols have been recovered from the terrorists.

Security forces carried out a major operation in Shopian last month

Last month (November 11, 2022), a Pakistani terrorist who had taken hostage students in a madrasa was killed by security forces in a major operation in Kapran village of Shopian. The terrorist was identified as Kamran Bhai alias Anees, who was associated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed organization.

Colonel Amron Mousavi, spokesman of the Army's 15 Corps, had informed that two 11-year-old students had been taken hostage by Jaish terrorists in Madrasa Darul Uloom Khalid Ibn Waleed of Kapran village. At that time a total of 31 students and three teachers were present in the madrasa. The security forces ensured that no damage was done to the madrassa and a nearby mosque during the operation. The operation was carried out by the Army's 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), police and 178 battalions of the CRPF.

The army spokesman had told that after receiving information about the hiding of terrorists in the madrasa, the operation started from midnight itself. The terrorist opened fire on the security forces while trying to escape at around six in the morning. In retaliation, the security forces killed him. AK-74, 4 magazines and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site.

Hybrid terrorist was killed by terrorists' bullet in Anantnag

At the same time, on November 20, during a search operation in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district, a terrorist named Sajjad Tantre, associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba organization, became the victim of an encounter. In fact, during the search operation, Tantre was taken to the Chek Dudu area of Bijbehara to identify the hideouts of the terrorists. During this, the hidden terrorists opened fire on the security forces. A bullet also hit Tantre, after which he was taken to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. According to the police, the alleged hybrid terrorist Sajjad Tantre was found involved in the murder of migrant laborers in the valley. Tantray was released from PSA custody.
