IAF Action on Tawang Clash: Even before the recent skirmish between India and China in Yangtse near Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, the dragon was not desisting from its misdeeds. Chinese drones were coming very aggressively close to the Indian posts located on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), for which the Indian Air Force had to send fighter jets deployed in the area to repel them.

The Chinese army is behaving aggressively on the issues in Yangtse in Holideep and Parikrama area on LAC. Here China has been opposing Indian posting. Defense sources told news agency ANI, 'In the last few weeks, there have been two-three occasions when our fighter jets have repulsed Chinese drones coming towards the ALC. Sukhoi-30MKI has been deployed to prevent airspace violations. Further sources said, the Air Force keeps a close watch to stop drone activities from China in the North East. Action will have to be taken to ensure that drones or any other aircraft do not violate the airspace.

According to sources, if the drone flies parallel to the LAC, then the Indian side has no problem, but if the drone or aircraft is caught by the radar while coming towards the Indian border, then necessary action will have to be taken to prevent such violations. The Indian Air Force has made a strong base in the North East. Squadrons of its Sukhoi-30 fighter jets are stationed at various places in Tezpur and Chauba in Assam. Rafale fighter jets have been deployed in Hashimara, West Bengal. The Indian Air Force has strengthened the air defense coverage in the area with the S-400 air defense system operating only in the Assam sector. This system can destroy any aerial threat in the entire area.
