New Delhi: Today, farmers across the country are celebrating 'protest day' in protest against the agricultural laws on the appeal of the United Farmers' Front. Farmers put black flag on vehicles and farmers burnt effigies on the border in protest against the government. Apart from this, farmers have gathered on the Singhu and Tikari borders as well. Rakesh Tikait, leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, which is spearheading the movement on the Ghazipur border, gathered the farmers on the border and burnt the effigy while raising black flags in their hands and shouted slogans against the government.

In fact, after the completion of 6 months of the Kisan movement on the borders of Delhi and 7 years to the Modi government of the Center, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha decided to put black flags on this day as a protest against the Modi government. Although today also marks Buddha Purnima, the celebration of the birth of Lord Buddha, Nirvana and Parinirvana, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha has also decided to celebrate Buddha Purnima in its own way on all fronts and dharnas today.

Appeal to keep the protest peaceful

Farmer leaders sitting on the border are constantly in touch with officials from across the country. Constant appeal is to be made to ensure that the protest is kept peaceful at all places. However, the farmers on the border were seen to observe that the farmers should follow the corona rules. However, some farmers appeared to be flouting the rules in protest against the government.

Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, said that the government would have to withdraw the agricultural laws. Today, people all over the country have stood up against the government with a black flag in their hands. Once again, all the farmers reiterated that till the demands of the farmers are not met, the farmers will be sitting on the borders of Delhi in the same way.

Protests are going on since 26 November

In fact, farmers have been protesting on various boundaries of the national capital since November 26 last year against three newly enacted farm laws. Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; The Government is opposing the Farmers Empowerment and Protection Agreement on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Act 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
