Farmers Protest News: The farmers' agitation at Shambhu border is once again in the headlines. Yesterday, farmers tried to march to Delhi, which led to a clash between the police and the farmers. As the uproar increased, the police fired tear gas shells, in which eight farmers were injured. To handle the situation, farmer leaders called back the protesters. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has warned that if the central government does not start talks, the farmers will again march to Delhi.Demand of farmers and appeal to the governmentSarwan Singh Pandher said that the government should come forward for talks. He said that farmers are not enemies of the country and the government should not make them feel like this. He strongly criticized the use of force by the Haryana Police and termed it unfair. Pandher said that the farmers of Punjab have always sacrificed for the country and their demands are justified. The farmers have put forward issues like legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP), justice to the victims of Lakhimpur Kheri violence, loan waiver, and pension scheme in their main demands. Farmers say that the shortage of DAP fertilizer should be removed and their other problems should be resolved.Postponement of Delhi march and hope for talksAfter the deadlock between the police and the farmers, there is hope for talks. Farmers say that a senior Haryana Police officer has asked them to decide the level of talks. On this, the farmers expressed their desire to talk to the Union Minister. Due to this, the farmers postponed the Delhi march program for a day. The farmers will currently stay at the Shambhu border and wait for the government's action.Heavy security deployed at Shambhu borderYesterday was a tense day at Shambhu border. Haryana and Delhi Police made tight security arrangements to prevent the farmers from marching to Delhi. Deployment of paramilitary forces, drone surveillance, and water cannons were arranged. Eight farmers were injured in the clash between the police and the farmers, of which two are seriously injured and are undergoing treatment in the hospital.Status of the movement and further strategyThe farmers have made it clear that if the talks do not yield any result, they will march to Delhi again. At present, the agitators have camped at Shambhu border. There is a stir regarding the possibilities of dialogue between the government and the farmers, but if no solution is found, the movement is likely to become more violent. This situation once again shows that there is a lack of trust and dialogue between the government and the farmers. If both the parties find a solution through dialogue, it will not only be in the interest of the farmers but will also prove helpful in maintaining the law and order of the country.
