Archery Championship: The day of August 5 has become memorable forever in the history of Indian archery. A day, which was expected by Indian archers and fans of this game for a long time, which even after many years of hard work, the Indian players could not get any luck. In the Archery World Championship being held in Berlin, on Saturday 5th August, India not only won the gold medal for the first time, but also repeated this achievement again in a few hours. India's archer Ojas Praveen Deotale won the gold medal in the men's individual compound event. He became only the second player and the first male archer in India to do so.

The 21-year-old Ojas achieved the historic feat by defeating Poland's Lukasz Shibilski in a thrilling contest by just one point in the final of the event on Saturday. Even before this wonder of the final, Ojas had wreaked havoc in the semi-finals. Ojas, ranked 34th in the world, stunned title contender and world No. 1 Mike Schloesser of the Netherlands 149-148.

History of Ojas with Perfect Score

If pulling off the biggest upset of the tournament wasn't enough, Ojas saved his best for the finale. In this match, the archers of India and Poland kept the score on par for a long time. In Archery, you get 10 points for a perfect shot. Finally Shibilski missed a shot and got only 9 points. Even after this, in the last round, the Polish archer hit all the arrows exactly on target. In response, the young Indian archer scored a perfect 10 on each of his arrows and eventually became the world champion with a perfect score of 150.

Third gold in 24 hours

This World Championship has proved to be fantastic for India. Before this, India had not won gold even once in the history of the tournament, but in just 24 hours, India won 3 golds. On Friday, India won gold for the first time in the women's compound team event. Then on Saturday, 17-year-old Aditi Swamy became India's first archer to win gold in the individual event. Within 240 minutes i.e. about 4 hours of this success of Aditi, Ojas also got his name registered in history by repeating this success.
