Archery World Cup: Archery World Cup is being organized in South Korea. The Indian women's team of Preneet Kaur, Aditi Swamy and Jyoti Surekha Vennam won their third consecutive gold medal on Saturday (May 25) by defeating Turkey in the final of the compound stage two event of this tournament. The Indian trio destroyed the challenge of Turkey's Hazal Burun, Ayse Bera Suzer and Begum Yuva from the beginning and won the final match 232-226.

Indian team's dominance

There was a very exciting coordination between the three players of India and they played a one-sided match against the Turkish team in the final. Currently ranked World No. 1, Preneet Kaur, Aditi Swamy and Jyoti Surekha Vennam defeated Turkey's challenge and won the gold medal without wasting any chance. The start of the final was very exciting. The Indian archers scored three X's on the first three arrows, but lost one point each in the next three attempts. However, luck favored the second seeded Indian team and they won the first round by just one point.

The dominance of the Indian trio was seen in the second round. They hit five 10s and two X's and took a four-point lead over their fifth-seeded opponent. Turkey displayed great composure and determination in the final round and hit four 10s, including one ace, to equal India's total of 58. However, India's strong lead proved too much for Turkey in the end, as they failed to reduce the gap.

Hope for two more gold medals

This is the third gold medal of the Indian trio in the Archery World Cup. India is hoping for two more medals in the ongoing World Cup. Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Priyansh will face their rivals from America in the compound mixed team final, while Prathamesh Phuge needs one more win to clinch a medal in the compound category. In such a situation, India has a chance to win two more gold medals.
