Jaishankar said this after the meeting

Jaishankar will meet Blinken at the Foggy Bottom headquarters of the State Department. He may also meet US Trade Representative Catherine Tye.

America made this request to India regarding the murder of Nijjar

The high-level meeting between the two countries took place after the recently concluded G-20 summit in New Delhi and amid the India-Canada diplomatic dispute. The meeting between the two top diplomats was scheduled well before the Canadian crisis began. On the other hand, the US is urging India to cooperate in the Canadian investigation into the killing of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia in June. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has alleged the involvement of Indian government agents in Nijjar's murder.

Nijjar was declared a terrorist in 2020

India had declared Nijjar a terrorist in 2020. India has rejected Canada's allegations as absurd. Jaishankar is also likely to hold meetings with senior officials of the Biden administration. He will review the progress made between the two countries following the historic state visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June and talk about other regional and global issues.
