The interrogation of the arrested people is on.It is being told that the incident took place when Macron was on a tour of the Drome area in south-eastern France. Recently, a group serving the French military had instructed President Emmanuel Macron about Islam. This group says that the 'existence' of France is at stake due to the concession to Islam religion. This letter from this group of soldiers serving in the French army was published in the conservative magazine Valeurs Actuelles.

A similar letter was published in this magazine last month also warning of civil war. Later, Gerald Darmainin, French Interior Minister and a close aide of Emmanuel Macron, called the letter a "crude maneuver" by some. The minister had alleged lack of "courage" among those writing anonymous letters.

In April, there was outrage from the Muslim community on social media after the Senate in France voted in support of a new resolution. In this resolution, there is a provision to ban the wearing of hijab (a head covering cloth) by girls below 18 years in public places. This proposal is part of the 'Separatism' bill. It hasn't taken effect yet. A month before this, voters in Switzerland voted to ban the burqa and niqab.
