A few days ago a study of Cambridge University came in which said that in the coming time people will face food crisis and people will start eating insects. In the study, it was called the food of the future. However, experiments on this future food have already started. A fine dish of insects is being prepared in a restaurant in France.

In a restaurant in France, a chef named Laurent Viet has included some such dishes made from insects in his tasting menu. Some weak-hearted people may not even be able to see it. However, it may also become a regular diet for people in the future amidst increasing population.

Viet's menu card features prawn salad, yellow millworm, crunchy worms with vegetables and locusts dressed in chocolate. People are coming from far and wide to enjoy the Viet dish in the restaurant. Some excited people are liking this dish made from insects and they are expressing their consent on it.

"It's the ideal dish for first-time eaters," Viet told Reuters. These people are being served pasta, sweet potato and lightly fried insect larvae made of mealworm flour. Some of these taste great. Many people are liking it.

In January, the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) considered the mealworm worms suitable for humans to eat. Its sale in the market was approved in May. The agency has submitted more than a dozen applications for food products made from several insects, including crickets and locusts. Mealworms and some other insects may, in general, prove to be a sustainable and low carbon food source for the future.

Sohail Ayari came to eat at the restaurant in Viet Nam with his two daughters. He said, 'I feel like I am in a traditional restaurant and what I am eating is something different. To be honest, it tastes very much like everyday food. ' While Ayari's younger daughter said, 'It is eco-friendly. What is needed more than this, it is good. '

The Viet grow the mealworms, feeding them oatmeal, oats and vegetables. Mealworms look very strange but they are rich in protein, fat and fiber. They can be eaten whole in curries or salads. Or they can be used to make dough for pasta, biscuits or bread.

European Commission Health and Food Safety Spokesman Stephen de Kirsmaiker said, 'Insects are nutritious. These can help us move towards a healthier and more sustainable diet.

For the Viet, preparing insect dishes is a doubly challenging task. On the one hand it is a challenge to convince them to try it and on the other side learn to mix the taste of insects with other foods. 'You have to find the right taste, the right things, all those things that attract people,' says Viet.
