PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: About 8.5 crore farmers across the country are going to get great news on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday release around Rs 17,000 crore as the 14th installment to around 8.5 crore farmer beneficiaries under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. The amount will be transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries at an event in Rajasthan's Sikar on Thursday, an official statement said.

The total amount transferred to the beneficiaries since the launch of the scheme is expected to cross Rs 2.59 lakh crore. This financial assistance will help farmers meet their daily needs and contribute to their overall welfare, the statement said.

Started in 2019

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) is a central scheme launched on February 24, 2019 and effective from December 2018. Under the scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is transferred in three equal installments to the bank accounts of farmer families across the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. So far, more than 11 crore farmers across the country have been given benefits of more than Rs 2.42 lakh crore.

Gift of PM Kisan Samridhi Kendra

In this program, Modi will dedicate 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samridhi Kendra (PMKSK) to the country. Government is converting the retail fertilizer shops in the country into PMKSK in a phased manner. These PMKSKs will provide testing facilities to farmers for agri-inputs, soil, seeds and fertilisers. These centers will create awareness among farmers, provide information about various government schemes and ensure regular capacity building of retailers at block and district level outlets.

PM Modi will launch Urea Gold

In the programme, farmers are going to get another big gift. Prime Minister Modi will launch Sulfur Coated Urea (Urea Gold) at tomorrow's event. Along with this, PM Modi will also launch the onboarding of 1,600 farmer producer organizations on ONDC.
