Stones were pelted on the procession of Hanuman's birth anniversary in Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on Saturday. The miscreants have also started arson here. Along with this, swords and bullets have also been fired. There is an atmosphere of tension in the area after the attack. According to the police, there is tension in Jahangirpuri, but the situation has been brought under control. Two companies of RAF have been deployed there. Apart from this, police force has been deployed in sensitive areas. Entire Delhi is on high alert. Union Home Minister Amit Shah inquired about the situation from the Delhi Police Commissioner and instructed to take necessary steps.


The incident happened near Kushal Cinema of Jahangirpuri. There was sudden stone pelting on the procession here. Several vehicles were vandalized. Many policemen who came to stop the stone pelting were also injured after being hit by it. However, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs, only one policeman was injured. Additional police forces have been called from several police stations after the incident. Rapid Action Force is marching in the area.


What did Delhi Police say

According to Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana – the situation is under control. Strict action will be taken against those who spoil the situation. Security will be further strengthened in other areas of Delhi as well. Several policemen were injured during the ruckus. The incident happened around 5:30 pm. This stone pelting took place near Kushal Cinema.


VHP spokesperson said - shots were fired, swords were raised

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) spokesperson Vinod Bansal tweeted that Hanuman Jayanti procession has been attacked by Islamic extremists. There were also reports of shots fired and stone pelting in the attack, in which many including policemen were injured. Bansal has written that 'Islamic jihadis showered stones, swords and bullets on Hanuman's birth anniversary procession in Jahangirpuri, Delhi.


Police claimed the identity of the miscreants

Some video footage has surfaced. Most of these policemen are seen injured. Anti-riot force has been deployed. The video team of the police has acquired several footages of the area. Some of these people have also been identified. Police officers say that the matter will be dealt with strictly.


BJP leader Kapil said - no need of proof

BJP leader Kapil Mishra said- A large number of Bangladeshi infiltrators live in Jahangirpuri. The same thing happened during the Delhi riots. How did the stones reach the roofs? Now no proof is needed. After Karauli, the same thing happened in Khargone. Are these attacks on Ramnavami and Hanuman Jayanti a coincidence or experiment. The government has to take concrete action now.


Arvind Kejriwal said – strict action should be taken against the culprits

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the responsibility of the security of Delhi rests with the central government. The incident of stone pelting in the procession in Jahangir Puri, Delhi is highly condemnable. Strict action should be taken against those who are guilty. Riots happened two years ago

During the agitation regarding CAA and NRC, riots broke out in Delhi on the night of 23 February 2020. The traces of the orgy that took place in many areas of North-East Delhi in the riots from 23 to 26 are still present. North East Delhi's Chand Bagh, Khajuri Khas, Babarpur, Jaffrabad, Seelampur, Main Wazirabad Road, Karawal Nagar, Shiv Vihar and Brahmapuri were hit. In these riots 42 people were killed and 250 people were injured. Two SITs were formed to investigate the matter.
