A new chapter has begun in Bihar's political history as Samrat Choudhary was sworn in as the 24th Chief Minister of the state today. The oath-taking ceremony took place at 11 AM at Lok Bhavan in Patna, fulfilling the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) long-standing goal of leading the government in Bihar. Nitish Kumar, who governed the state for two decades, is now set to transition into national politics in Delhi. This event marks a golden milestone in the BJP's political journey, as it's the first time the party has secured the Chief Minister's chair in the state.
Oath Ceremony and Government Formation
After being elected as the leader of the NDA legislative party, Samrat Choudhary staked his claim to form the government before the Governor. Following the resignation of Nitish Kumar, Choudhary took the oath of office today. To maintain the balance of the alliance, two Deputy Chief Ministers from the JDU quota, Vijay Chaudhary and Bijendra Yadav, also took their oaths. This transition comes after 46 years of active struggle by the Jan Sangh and later the BJP in Bihar's political landscape.
