New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department has forecast snowfall with rain in the western Himalayan region and moderate to heavy rain in the plains of North-West India till January 9. Rain and snowfall will prevail here

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be snowfall with rain till January 9 in the western Himalayan region and after that it will reduce significantly. Heavy rain and snowfall are expected at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad on Saturday and Sunday. There is a possibility of light snowfall in Himachal Pradesh till January 9.

Meteorological Department expressed this possibility

According to the IMD, high moisture is coming from the Arabian Sea in the lower and middle troposphere levels over northwest and adjoining central India and is likely to continue during the next 2-3 days.

Rain will continue in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain will continue in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, North Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh till January 9. Apart from this, there is a possibility of light rain in Madhya Pradesh till January 11 and in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during January 9 to 11.
