Issue of breach in the security of Parliament

In fact, on December 13, the 22nd anniversary of the attack on Parliament, two youths had jumped into the House from the audience gallery of the Lok Sabha. The House proceedings were going on when this incident occurred. The MPs caught both the men and handed them over to the police. Opposition parties were demanding statements from the Prime Minister and the Home Minister regarding the breach in the security of Parliament.

146 MPs were suspended

Opposition MPs created a ruckus in both the houses due to which a total of 146 MPs were suspended from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from December 14 to December 21. Among these, Congress has the maximum of 61 MPs. The issue of suspension of MPs was raised in the meeting of the opposition alliance India Alliance on 19 December. After this, all the parties together decided to protest on 22 December.

On Thursday, MPs from opposition parties took out a march from Parliament House to Vijay Chowk. During this, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge demanded an answer from the Prime Minister and the Home Minister on the issue of breach in the security of Parliament. He said that we are demanding answers from the government but the MPs are being suspended. The Prime Minister and the Home Minister should give statements in Parliament on this issue.

Demonstration in front of Raj Bhavan in Kerala

The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala will protest in front of the Raj Bhavan against the suspension of a large number of opposition MPs. Announcing the protest, UDF convenor MM Hasan said the suspension of a large number of opposition members of Parliament, including MPs coming from the state, was an 'anti-democratic' act. He said that democracy within Parliament was strangulated through the suspension of MPs. “All UDF MLAs and leaders will protest in front of Raj Bhavan against the Modi government's move to kill democracy,” the senior leader said. He said that VD Satheesan, PK Kunhalikutty, CP John, Anup Jacob and other leaders of the opposition front will lead the protest.
