Wrestlers Protest: Regarding the Protest of wrestlers against WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said on Wednesday that the investigation will be done according to the rules. Players must wait until the investigation is complete. Talking to the media, he said that the players will have to trust at least the Supreme Court, the police, the sports department. The Sports Minister said that we also want that there should be a fair investigation on what the players have raised. Take action after investigation. The Police is investigating. They should wait till the investigation is over. He said that important matches are coming ahead. We are with all the players. No such step should be taken which will cause harm to other players and sports.

If the charge is proved, I will hang myself

Instead of stopping, the dispute between Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and the wrestlers is increasing. Protesters have been demanding the arrest of wrestler Brij Bhushan Sharan for more than a month. Want to send them behind bars. On the other hand, WFI President and BJP MP are telling themselves innocent. He said that if an allegation against him is proved, he will be hanged.

Addressing a public meeting in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, said that if even a single allegation against me is proved, I will hang myself. If the protesting wrestlers have any evidence against me, they should present it in the court. I am ready to accept any punishment. He said that he stands by his words.

Protest of wrestlers continues from 23rd April

Taking a jibe at the wrestlers, he said that those who trapped me are going to throw their medals in the Ganges. They want to see me hanged. The government is not going to hang me, so they are going to throw their medals in the Ganges. By doing this I will not get hanged. Please tell that these wrestlers were protesting against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Jantar Mantar since 23 April.

Medals went to shed in Ganga

On May 28, these people wanted to hold a mahapanchayat in front of the new parliament building. But the Delhi Police did not allow them to do so. On Tuesday, these wrestlers went to Haridwar to shed their medals in the Ganges, where Naresh Tikait stopped them from doing so. After this the wrestlers said that they would fast unto death at India Gate, but the Delhi Police prohibited their entry here too. Brij Bhushan has been accused of sexual exploitation by 7 women wrestlers including a minor.
