Coronavirus / Junior doctor attacked by relatives of a patient died by Covid in rural assam video goes viral

Assam: In the midst of the corona epidemic, doctors have got no less status than God. However, cases of misbehavior with these doctors also continue. The latest case is of Hojai district in Assam, where the relatives of a patient who died of corona beat up the junior doctor with kicks and slippers. The video of this incident has now gone viral on social media.

The matter is being told around 1.30 pm on Tuesday. It can be seen in the video how some people are brutally beating the doctor. The doctor has been identified as Siuz Kumar Senapati. Some users have also tagged Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the viral video.

The victim doctor said, 'The family members of the patient told me that their patient's condition is critical. When I went to see the patient, I found that he had already died. After this the family members of the patient started vandalizing the furniture of the hospital and attacked me.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has tweeted that such brutal attacks on frontline workers will not be tolerated. He has also talked about getting the accused punished.

The Assam unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has expressed displeasure over this attack and has written a letter to the police demanding action.
