Kabul: Afghanistan is in mayhem, there's no denying that. Amid the constant tussle between the Afghans and the Taliban, the capital of the country, Kabul, was rocked by a bomb blast on Thursday. Afghanistani cricketers Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi, who have been praying for the welfare of their countrymen, took to Twitter to issue a heartfelt plea.

The blast took place at the gates of the Kabul airport, killing at least 60 people as well as 13 US troops. The terrorist group ISIS took responsibility for the attack that took place using suicide bombers, targeting "translators and collaborators with the American army".

As the situation in Afghanistan deteriorates, Rashid and Nabi expressed their plight on social media.

“Kabul is bleeding again STOP KILLING AFGHAN PLEASE,” wrote Rashid.

“I express my deepest condolences to my countrymen who lost their lives in today’s attack in the vicinity of Kabul airport. We condemn such attacks on the strongest possible terms and urge the world to help Afghans get through these tough times,” tweeted Nabi.

Rashid Khan has been busy playing in England's The Hundred at present. He even painted Afghanistan's flag on his face, pledging support to the country in these crisis times.

Rashid has been playing for Trent Rockets’ in The Hundred but has reportedly not been his 'bubbly self', according to the team skipper Lewis Gregory. The Rockets captain said that his teammates have been taking good care of the Afghan spinner who's been very worried over the situation in his country.

“We have a fantastic group of lads and they have really rallied around him, trying to keep him busy and look after him as much as we can,” said Gregory.

There is also a question over Rashid and Nabi's participation in the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Phase-2. Crisis-ridden Afghanistan has taken a huge mental toll on its cricketers' mental health. Even the nation's bilateral series against Pakistan was recently suspended.
