National News / Kashmir student airlifted from Bangladesh to Delhi, PM Modi himself took charge

Delhi: The central government on Monday airlifted an MBBS student from Jammu and Kashmir from Bangladesh for special treatment. BJP leader Ravinder Raina said an MBBS student from Jammu and Kashmir, who was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bangladesh after being seriously injured in an accident, has been airlifted to AIIMS in New Delhi. Shoaib Lone, a resident of Rajouri district here, is a final year MBBS student at Barind Medical College, Dhaka. Shoaib had an accident on June 3 with two of his college friends. One died in the accident and two others including Shoaib were seriously injured.

Raina had met the student's father, Mohammad Askam Lone, during his visit to Rajouri district. The J&K BJP president said, "As soon as I came to know about the accident from his father during my visit to Rajouri, I sought help from the PMO. He is in a coma. His parents want help."

He said the PMO sought details and Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally called the High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh to provide all necessary assistance to the student's family. Raina said the high commissioner had visited the injured student at Ever Care Hospital in Dhaka and contacted his family in Rajouri.

Raina thanked Prime Minister Modi for taking prompt action in this regard. Shuaib's father said that the family had somehow arranged for Rs 10 lakh to which people had contributed, but all the money was spent on his treatment. Her father is a Class IV employee in the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shoaib Lone's father thanks PM Modi for airlifting his son from Dhaka to India (Delhi). His son Shoaib is currently admitted in AIIMS Delhi. Shoaib's father Aslam Lone said, "We were facing problems when we reached there. We faced language barrier and the expenses were high... We contacted BJP state president Ravinder Raina, who promised us That he will talk to the PM. Modi will bring our child back to India. I thank the PM."
